Welcome to Day 25 of the 25 Days of Giveaways, the brilliant idea of Tina at Living Without Sophia & Ellie!
NOTE: These giveaways are open to all baby lost mamas. If you didn't sign up to host a giveaway we still want you to participate and try to win some of these GREAT items. We want to spread happiness to everyone, not just those who are hosting a day!
This day has come quickly upon me. Not only is it my day to host, but it is also the day my daughter left us 3 months ago. I was glad when I found out the 21st would be my day.
Since losing Hannah I have started making memory boxes for hospitals with my Delivering Hope project. We never received a memory box for her and I have so many things that remind me of her or that we have done, pictures, dried flowers, you name it, that the original one I began putting these mementos in is practically full! Well I just finished a new, bigger one for Hannah and for a friend of mine and thought wouldn't it be great to custom make one for another angel's mommy as my giveaway. So here it is. The pictures are of Hannah's box. I would burn your baby's name on the corner and pick an inside fabric based upon the colors/theme you choose. If you have more than one angel I will do a box for each of them. There will also be some prizes inside which I am not going to reveal! AND there will be a few "runner-ups" for another special item! After all, it IS Christmas and Christmas is all about giving!
Just leave me a comment with the name of your angel and the most special item you have that would go inside this box! I am looking forward to reading all of your stories. God Bless! Katy

ReplyDeleteHi Katy,
ReplyDeleteIts nice to meet you. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've enjoyed being introduced to new stories/blogs via the 25 days of giveaways.
Your memory boxes are so beautiful. What a wonderful way to honor Hannah. I'd love to have one to place the only outfit Ella ever wore and her footprint mold in it.
I look forward to reading your story.
Bree
Our angel's name is Dylan, and the most special item that we have of his is a small lock of his beautiful hair that we currently keep in a tiny baggy.
ReplyDeleteKat
Our angels names are Morgan and Blumpy. The special items we would put in them are all of the things that our blog support system has made for our angels, and the pictures of their names. Right now we're using a tupperware for Morgan's stuff and a shoe box for Blumpy's :(
ReplyDeleteOh wow, these memory boxes are beautiful!! If I was lucky enough to win, I would probably put Jenna's Christmas dress in it. What a lovely giveaway.

This is such a beautiful box! I do memory boxes too for the hospital but mine are just photo boxes that I decorate and fill up with items. However I have not done any in 2009 because of my recent loss, my husband. We lost our daughter in 2005, at 26 wks gestation. It has become my mission in life to make things better (easier?) for bereaved parents, and although I haven't quite succeeded in that department this past year, I am hoping to get back into it again for 2010.
ReplyDeleteWe did receive a memory box for our daughter but it was teeny tiny and did not have anything in it except the outfit they put on her and her hospital bracelet and a roll of film that turned out to only have 12 very lousy photos on it. I couldn't even close the lid because it was so small.
If I won your box, I would put her things in there so it would have a proper spot and use the one we got for something else, perhaps little notes or something for her and her daddy.
Anyway I am (hopefully) going to bed shortly, but I hope to remember to come back here tomorrow and spend sometime getting to know you on your blog.
I'm very sorry for the loss of your precious baby. ((hugs))
Oh wow, that box is absolutely gorgeous! We have lost three babies, Raime, Elora and Connor.
ReplyDeleteKaty,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your precious Hannah. Though I wish it were under better circumstances I am glad to "meet" so many due to these give a ways.
The boxes that you make are beautiful ! I would love to have one with my daughter, Caitlyn's name.It would be a great place to store so many little things.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. The memory box is absolutely beautiful. My angels name is Jasper Thomas and I would love to have something to put his blanket in, the one that he spent his precious 36 hrs of life, the one he passed away on. I would love to be able to put it on my bedside table.
ReplyDeleteYour box is beautiful. I would love to use it to house many of the little items that are lost among the bigger items in her box.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful gift you are able to share with others and help in their journey of loss. We were blessed with a wonderful NICU that gave us many items of rememberance, but never a special memory box. If I had this, I would put the beautiful little pink outfit my Brooke wore as she said goodbye to us. For my Alexcyn, I would put her purple outfit and all of the items that we kept from her stay in the NICU for the 3 days she blessed our lives.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for the loss of your precious baby girl. I am glad I found your blog, I am always looking for Christian mothers who blog about their experiences since thier loss.
ReplyDeleteMy little girl's name is Shyla Joy. She was born to Heaven on September 2, 2009.
The memory box is just beautiful and if I were to win I would probably place some of the dried flowers I have from her service.
Thank you for sharing your story and this beautiful box.
Your memory boxes are amazingly beautiful! Whoever wins will be extremely lucky! I am so sorry for the loss of your precious girl but I hope to get to know you now that I have found your blog!
ReplyDeleteIf I were to win I would put; dried flowers from the girls funeral and the dresses that they wore just after their births in the boxes.
So sorry to hear about the loss of your darling daughter. These boxes are gorgeous! They sent me home from the hospital with a very small box that couldn't fit all of my son's things, so some of them ended up in a plastic baggie. I made my own bigger box, that is not nearly as beautiful as yours, but for now it fits his belongings. My most treasured possession of him, is the cast moldings of his feet and hands that the nurses did for me. I would love to finally have them bronzed, and placed in a proper box with is ashes. His name was Quinn.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your loss. What a beautiful box you have made. We have a box from the hospital, but I have barely opened it because I am still so sad. When I did open it to take a peek, my precious bereavement counselor made Rebekah's footprints on the lid. I just bawled and that was all I could handle at the time.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to coming back here. I have met so many precious people through this.
Those boxes are absolutely beautiful. I have Jonathan's hat and baby ring that I would put in there. That would be a very special box.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutly beautiful! What a thoughtful gift! If I won this adorable box, I think I would fill it with Bryson's personal things like his UV shades, his hospital bracelets, diapers, etc. Thanks for such a nice offer. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful - I'm sorry to have missed this giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see your comment on my blog. I'm getting ready to send you an email rather than leave you a super long comment!
These are absolutely gorgeous! If I won, I would place my trio's pictures in them. I have more than I thought and I always seem to find them out of no where which tends to make me emotionally lose it. It would be nice to have a special place to keep all their photos so I am not taken by surprise and find them when I am not emotionally prepared to see them.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! If I won I would put Maxton's bracelet, his socks he wore for St. Patrick's day, his lock of hair... and all the other little things he had in his life. It would be wonderful to wint this! My son also went to heaven on the 21st.... thinking of you today as I know how hard it is! It's been 9 months now...
ReplyDeleteOh! The box is very beautiful!! I have a larger chest that holds all of my daughter Carleigh's keepsakes but I've been wanting to get a smaller box to put her outfits and hats in.
ReplyDeleteKaty,
ReplyDeleteLove and Hugs on Hannah's Angelversary. Know that I am sending many prayers your way as you continue to honor your sweet baby girl.
Much Love,
Andrea

Interesting posting. Thanks for the info. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteBathmate
The box is beautiful! If I won I would put my babies pictures in it along with their blankets and hats.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. The box is beautiful. I would place my son's precious hand and foot casts. I'm so fearful that they will get broken. His name is Isaac, we called him 'Peanut.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my son Patrick at 10 wks to SIDs. I would put his pictures, foot and hand prints, blanket, his little baby sneakers, and some special clothes in the box. It really is a beautiful gift.
ReplyDeleteThe box is BEAUTIFUL!!! My angels are Sophia & Ellie and every item I have of theirs is so very special to me. But the thing I love the most is the blanket they were wrapped in and the little hats they wore on their sweet little heads. I love to take these items out of their box and just hold them. Tthank you so much Katy for being a part of the giveaways...I can't wait to see who the winner is!! xx
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! What a talent to be able to make something that nice. I lost my baby to a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. I had a D&C and my body fell apart after that and I have had 4 surgeries since the D&C to try and repair the damage done. I have had to have one ovary removed. We named our baby Jordan. I know it's not the same loss as a stillbirth or infant loss, but I feel like I share the same grief.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss of beautiful little Hannah. I have a daughter named Hannah. She was 2 when we lost Jordan. She will be 6 next month. We both miss Jordan.
